As many people suffer from allergies, we have decided to keep La Briosa smoke-free and pet-free to allow for a pleasant stay for everyone.
We built in eco-friendly ways and we aim to take this method further: on our green roof bees can find a lovely spot, solar panels give warmth during the cold months and a cooling system allows the rooms to stay fresh without the impact of traditional air-conditioning.
Wood as a building material has a long tradition in South Tyrol. The same goes for its innovative use in architecture. The South Tyrolians were also pioneers in the use of local “moon wood”. As a guest at La Briosa you will not be able to see this certified wood quality from a regional value chain. Nevertheless, you will be able to feel the natural benefits it provides. We are convinced of that.
Arches have shaped the views of the city of Bolzano for centuries. At La Briosa the arch represents the fusion of tradition and modernity. On the outside, the arch shines in smooth white contours contrasting the traditional coarse textured plaster walls of the exterior. Together with pops of colour the arch softens the hard edges of our interiors, creating a bright and welcoming space. Tradition begins now.
Some say that breakfast is already the highlight of the day, at La Briosa we say, “good bread is the highlight of breakfast.” This is why we specially prepare it in our in-house bread bakery. Immerse yourself in the richness and variety of the South Tyrolian flavors. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., but we do not leave anyone without breakfast ;-)
You can find La Briosa on via Cappuccini, a 2-minute walk from piazza Walther, the center of the old town.
Our central location is a great place to begin your Bolzano experience, shop in the legendary arcades, have a coffee or enjoy an aperitivo on the terraces of many nearby bars and restaurants.
If you happen to be in Bolzano in the spring, enjoy the mild weather and the gorgeous flower market.
The piazza is covered in beautiful flowers and greenery, enfusing the city with beautiful floral fragrances. Stroll the market and you are sure to find a bouquet or two as well as countless photo opportunities.
If just looking at the "Rosengarten" is not enough for you, it is best to set off straight away. Hiking, biking, climbing or just walking in the incomparable nature around Bolzano. In spring, the apple tree blossoms all over the region are particularly impressive, or the "via Romeo-Germanica", an old pilgrimage route from northern Germany via the Brennero Pass through Bolzano to Rome.
Summer in Bolzano is the festival season. Sounds from the Jazz Festival to the dance summer "Bolzano Danza" enliven the city also outside of the theatres.
In August, Bolzano fills up with young musicians from the European Youth Orchestras, who delight passerby with the sounds of classical music in numerous squares during the Bolzano Festival Bozen.
Hiking is always possible and with one of the three cable cars that start in Bolzano, you can reach 1,000 meters in altitude in no time at all. For example, the Renon or the insider tip Colle. In the valley you can go swimming in one of the pools or lakes nearby or just enjoy coffee and gelato at any time and any altitude.
Bolzano and all of South Tyrol invite you to "Törggelen" in autumn, the famous, rustic South Tyrolean wine sampling. Museums, churches, city theatres, music, shopping and discovering the various wine cellars characterize the city's lifestyle at this time of year. But it is also nature that enchants here, because the colors of the autumn leaves are absolutely beautiful!
Seen from Bozen, the striking formation of the Dolomites is not just a magnificent backdrop. For many, the sight alone is inspiration and a reason for hiking, mountaineering or cycling at any level.
In winter, the city shows its warm-hearted side. The clear blue of winter alternates with romantic parades of light and lets you wander pleasantly through the city.
In winter, Bolzano offers attractive gourmet- and Christmas markets and, of course, a suggestive program of theater, readings and music.
Merano, Bressanone or Vipiteno are easily accessible from La Briosa for further immersion in the world of lights of the Advent.
In addition, skiing, ski-hiking or fun sleigh rides are not far away in the various ski areas in the region. Winter enjoyment for every taste.
The Bolzano train station is just a 5-minute walk away, the bus station just a little more and we also have space for your bicycles. Therefore, it is actually most enjoyable to reach La Briosa on foot or by bike.
If you prefer to travel by car, you can leave the motorway either at “Bolzano South” or “Bolzano North”. In both cases, follow the signs towards Bolzano city centre/train station.
La Briosa has only a few parking spaces, which cannot be reserved and are subject to a fee. Alternatively, the public car park “P3-Waltherplatz” is located just a few minutes’ walk from our hotel. The entrance can be reached via the new Walther tunnel.
In any case, you can drive to via dei Cappuccini 12 to unload your luggage. We will then be happy to direct you to the nearest parking area.
